Modern Sampling Techniques
Modern process control requires accurate analysis of incoming raw material,
product in process, and what leaves the plant as finished product or as waste. A reliable
system for withdrawing representative samples can be the key to improved product quality,
more efficient processing, and better compliance with government or industry standards.
Samples that accurately represent the actual product or effluent composition can be
automatically collected with Bristol ISOLOK Samplers for liquids, slurries or dry powders.
COMPOSITE Sampling
In many instances, the most accurate liquid, slurry or powder sample is produced by the
ISOLOK Sampler automatically withdrawing a series of small, precisely measured amounts as
a flowing material passes the sampling point. The number of individual samples taken is
adjusted according to time or by product flow to generate the composite sample volume
fully represents the process material composition. Samples can be collected in a comman
container or in individual bottles as required.
BATCH or ANALYSIS Sampling
These sampler is also applicable when an immediate sample is needed, or where on-line
analsis techniques are used. Here, a single sampler cycle can be initiated or a rapid
cycling rate used to withdraw the material volume needed. When on-line analysis is used,
the sampler is connected directly to the measurement instrument and the accurate material
sample is conducted safely and directly to the analyzer.
